I was so excited to show you – please excuse the mess in the background and the bit o’ belly!

The waistband was surprisingly painless – I roughly pinned the top edge leaving enough space for the elastic, then slip stitched it using Koigu. Then I shoved the elastic in using a safety pin (middle school family studies, you taught me well), sewed the ends together, and closed up the hole. There’s a bit of wonkiness in some of the hexagons – needs to be slightly reblocked.

Yayyyy!!! Better pictures soon, I promise!

Better Pictures? Those are GORGEOUS! I love the skirt, and you’ve inspired me to make it (right after I make your cardigan). I love finding creative uses for Koigu. Is that the pattern from the last issue of Vogue, or did you make it up yourself?

It’s fabulous! The picture of the full length one in VK was kind of scary but your mini skirt version is great. I’m tempted to make myself one.

Wow — the skirt is gorgeous. I have never been tempted to knit a skirt before because the patterns I see always look a little “grandmaish/too homemadeish”, but your version is awesome. Too cute!

  27. Jen Avatar

That is one HOT skirt! Way to go, I am inspired to make one for myself. It looks like an A-line — is that true or is it more straight? I have a small waist but big hips — A-lines look great on me but straights are B-A-D.
