  • scarf, scarf, blocking party

    The completed sari silk scarf.

And the start of my father’s scarf. The green strand is Patons Classic, and the dark blue is the Peruvian Highland Wool from Elann.

A shot of the blocking party in my basement tv room!

Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day – two lectures, then in the hour between my class and work I need to go to the library to photocopy things and return books; go to courage my love to buy buttons for my ribby; and eat lunch.

I’m officially out of Denise cords, except for the uber-long ones. I suppose this means I should finish some projects, eh?

  • it’s a miracle!

I just Eucalan-d and laid out to block a whole bunch of Christmas stuff, plus my ribby. I soaked everything for a good long time (>30 minutes) in the machine with quite a bit of Eucalan, a few teaspons at least. When I took out my ribby, I was AMAZED. I mean, I know the power of Eucalan – I can wear my Manos legwarmers because of it. But still, I was ASTONISHED at how soft it was! And all my other stuff is uber-soft now too. The Patons Classic, especially. I just had to share.

In other news, I feel so guilty for not doing any schoolwork yesterday or today. I WILL study after I get home from SnB tonight. Pinky-swear.

…I’ll put up some pictures later, too.

  • I should be working

    Instead I’m taking photos! Whee!

I didn’t start my dad’s scarf. Instead I cast one for a sari silk/random black striped scarf for my cousin.

I’m going to use a couple of different yarns for black stripes, probably – one, because I don’t have enough silk for the whole scarf (I don’t think) and two, to sort of tone down the whole thing. I’m not actually that sure if she’s into…colour, but who wouldn’t love the sari silk??

And one last shot which I like quite a lot, of the verrrry beginning (I haven’t finished casting on!) of the cotton capelet for my mom.
