  • lion brand and lorna’s laces

    Sigh. I’m tired.

Just a few thoughts on knit.1, and I’m feeling rather lazy with the pictures –
    1) I like the cover sweater, except for the fact that it’s drop-sleeve.
    2) Rainbow tank by Teva Durham is awesome.
    3) the ribbon crop-top (number 40) isn’t bad either.
    4) That hotpant overall is just WRONG.
    5) Enough with the crocheted bikinis!
    6) How can such a small magazine cost so much…next time I’ll think harder before buying.

    Ahhhh. Nice yarn.

The darker bits are actually dark purple/brown, and the whole sock is quite a bit more pink than it appears here. This sock’s taking forever though, mainly because I haven’t had much time to knit. I knit all day at work*, then when I come home I need to study (which involves typing, and thus the use of one’s hands). I was hoping to put up a picture of the manos cardi today, but..maybe tomorrow. When I can get someone to take a picture of me in it.

Rachel – I did get your Paypal, and it went out in the mail today (too busy friday to get it out). Shouldn’t take too long to reach you!

*edit: when I say i knit all day at work, that is work knitting. i don’t get to keep the pieces I knit while at work – they’re for the shop. so what I really mean is, I don’t get to knit much for ME. I’m selfish that way.

  • i should be studying

That’s a common theme around here, isn’t it? I should be studying, but instead, I blog.

I picked up a set of beauuuutiful lantern moon double points, size 1 – they seem nice and pointy. And I exchanged yarn for them, so I didn’t actually spend more money (much, anyway).

I got the extra esprit that I ordered from elann, along with some yarn needles – why do they send it in such a big box? Seems like such a waste.

I don’t know if I’ll need the extra yarn. But I can still use it to make socks, or put it together with one of the solids for a top or something. I did start Betty, but I haven’t gotten into it much.

The fabric does seem a little…loose. I’m just going to hope it turns out okay. Hm, there were these other things I wanted to talk about (the new knit.1 and my lorna’s laces socks) but that’ll just have to wait until later.

  • crazy pace

Okay. I really must get to bed soon! Must type faster!

I just wove in the ends on the tall socks and the manos cardi, so tomorrow night I’ll give the cardi a nice soak & spin (along with my other sweaters that need to be washed) and block it out. As an aside, I find that I’m wearing the sweaters I’ve knit this season a ton – mainly the must have and the jo sharp silkroad cardigan. They’re so easy to wear and actually keep me warm.

Anyway, I’ve yet to start Betty but I’m hoping to, tomorrow night. The knitting is easy and it’s not all that much fabric, so I’m hoping it’ll work up quickly. I also want to work on the Urban Aran, but I’ve got more pressing matters – studying. I’ve got an exam on the 21st worth 33% of my botany mark, and I’d really like to not fail. So knitting may be limited over the next week. That’s not to say I don’t have knitting goals as well, though.

I worked on the Lorna’s Laces sock a tiny bit and am oh, about halfway through the cuff. It’s so pretty and feels so nice!

Ooooh, Kelly (and anyone else interested) – Lantern Moon needles are in the shop now, along with a bunch of their other stuff. I’ve already got my size 1 double points and they are beauuuutiful.
