  • a garden update

In lieu of knitting content, a garden (somewhat) update. These photos are from wayyyy back on Canada Day.

This pepper is way bigger now – I think the variety of this one is “Sweet Cherry”.

Rouge d’Hiver romaine that we had way too much of and consequently just chopped off and composted. It’s okay, it was just lettuce. I’d never throw away a tomato!

Lincoln (shelling) peas – they’re doing very well, I wish I’d planted a lot more. The pods are getting really fat now and I even harvested a few yesterday!

    July 1/07

I’ll get some more photos today to show you all how far it’s all come in just two weeks!

In the meantime, I’m knitting away on a deadline piece, crocheting that skirt when I can, and working on patterns – I’ve got loads of faboo yarn on hold for myself at the store, and have told myself that I can buy it once I’m done the two patterns for sale I’m currently working on. So you can bet I’m working hard!

  • on the fly

    my new glasses

New glasses – frameless, fibreglass arms (they’re really flexy!), super cheap at one of the Asian malls (First Markham Place) – only $250! Still getting used to them, but I do like the way they’re really, really clear from the front and almost invisible.

    yep, i'm crocheting

I’m crocheting! First crochet project, really. It’s the skirt from the fall Knitscene, in the called-for Silky Wool. I only have four skeins in my stash (and another four of a totally different colour) so I’ll have to pick up some more soon.

Gotta run! I’ve got to go water the garden, eat breakfast, and get downtown to work.

  • photoless

Er, whoops, the rest of the week swooped by awfully fast! Thanks for all the compliments on the VBC – I wore it a few times on my vacation in May, and it feels great. The rest of the week was just working, picking up some new specs (pictures soon), gardening, and then today I spent almost the entire day working on cleaning up my room. Whew, that’s quite a job. It’s much better now, but there’s still a lot of room for improvement.

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on a secret project amongst all my various things, and that needs to get done really, really soon. Still working on the pattern for the balance top – which needs a name! And there’ll very soon be a new pattern designed by me available at lettuce knit.

So there’s lots of exciting things to come! It’s just getting through that big pile of work that’s a bit daunting. One good thing about the rainy weather we’ve been having and will probably continue to have is that it’s a good reason to stay inside at the computer!
