Ah, aren’t natural light photos better? Too bad it’s only going to get worse around here…
Christmas ringel socks
Pattern: basic sock on 60 stitches
Yarn: Regia 4 fadig Mini Ringel Color
Needles: 2.25 mm Clover dpn
Finished: November 21, 2005
You could get both of these out of one ball if you didn’t mind them not matching. Since I matched, I ended up running out on the second orange stripe of the toe on the second sock, but luckily I did have another ball. When I finished the toe on the first one, I only had one row (the grafting row) in yellow, but of course on the second one I had a significant amount of yellow! So I ripped back the first toe a few rows and inserted some yellow. They’re still not even, but whatever. One Christmas present down!
And what’s this woman to do when stacks of presents and work knitting pile around her?
Cast on for a new sweater. Obviously. Hey, I’m cold!
We’re supposed to get our first real snowstorm tonight – all I can say is, HOLD OFF until after my driving test this afternoon!! Yes folks, it’s taken me almost 5 years with a G1 (learner’s permit-type dealie) to finally learn how to drive (I took the school in August) and take the first test. Ontario has a graduated licensing system, so I’ll have to take another, more difficult road test in a year to get my full license. Wish me luck!
Best of luck with the driving test! I grew up in NYC, where the public transportation system is extensive, so I didn’t learn how to drive until last year. I was 27. I thought it was going to be slightly humiliating, but I think my tester was relieved to have someone over the age of 18. :-)
What is the sweater you’re knitting?
Good luck with the driving. I love the stripes within stripes of that sock yarn.
Good luck with the road test! It’ll be easy peasy for you! Will this get you your G2 or your full G license?
Love the socks! They look so long and skinny in that picture but I know they’re going to fit your sister just perfectly when she tries them on. I’m curious about the sweater you started, too… Good luck with the driving exam!
The socks look great. And good luck on the test. You’ll do great!
Good luck! I’m sure it will be fine! Wear some handmade socks to give you calm…
Good luck! Those socks look fantastic! I am planning on knitting my first pair of socks (yay!) here pretty soon, do you have a pattern or a book recommendation for simple sock patterns? (I like ribbing).
Hi – I love the socks – and good luck with the driving test. (Hope the snow held off for you.)
Those socks look great! I love those stripes. Now what is this sweater you are knitting? Think of the sweater as part of the “one for you, one for me” school of knitting.
Good luck on your test! I hope it doesn’t snow
Hey dude – hope your driving test went well. And I’ll see you tomorrow for lunch. And the socks look great…I don’t even remember you starting them!
