Ilkley Shawl

I worked on this shawl while traveling in the UK, and I’m very excited to share it with you all!

ILKLEY SHAWL
Ilkley is a triangular shawl, knit from the bottom up – you start with lots of stitches but start decreasing right away! No casting off hundreds of stitches. Shown in two sizes, a two-colour smaller scarf and a five-colour ombre version in a larger shawl size. The non-lacy stitch pattern is cushy yet airy, and easy to work! Perfect for small amounts of sock yarns or handspuns.

So pretty – looks like an ideal use for all those inevitable odds and ends (10 yards! 25 yards!) Love that.

They both look great! I especially love the color scheme of the larger one.

Love your new pattern. This screams for a main color and some knitpicks bare dyed in the some color and 4 times. I’d go for a chocolate brown and a cc going from a pale ecru to a deep gold orr a pale peach to deep rust. Hmm, as soon as I can afford yarn and dye I’ll start playing.

Just bought your pattern and cast on over the weekend. It’s great for my work commute on the bus. At the moment I’ve only chosen the main colour which is a nice charcoal grey and am having a hard time narrowing down the contrasting colours among my stash. I really like the oranges you used. I’m leaning towards purples but I also have this lovely mustard yellow. Oh well, a few rows to go before I have to make a definite decision. It’s a lovely pattern – can’t wait until I’m done.
