  • the week is over again

How the hell did that happen? I swear it was *just* last Friday.

I wanted to put up pictures tonight, but I didn’t get around to it. So it’ll have to be tomorrow night. At any rate, I’ve got projects comin’ out my ears here! I cast on for another scarf, this one for my cousin, in yummy turquoise-gold Manos. It’s going pretty quickly, and I’ll take it to work with me tomorrow in the hopes of getting through some more (at least on the subway or something).

I also started a cabled scarf for either my dad or my grandfather, using Rachael’s pattern and Patons Classic Wool in “Dark Grey Mix”. I only got a few inches done, but it’s started. So now I have a couple of projects that I can grab on my way out the door…if I remember to grab the right size needle tips! Right now I’ve got 2 projects on 5mm needles (lotech and top down, but that one doesn’t count), two on 4.5 mm needles (must have and mini-charlotte), and one on 4 mm needles that I also need to use for the ribbing on the Must Have. Craziness.

Oh, and I also worked on mini-charlotte and started my second sleeve of the Must Have tonight. All in all, a very knitty-ful day. Unfortunately, I’m starting to get freaked about school. I have a test in my Psychology of Language class next week, and after that there’s only 3 more lectures!!!! I can’t believe the term is almost over, and I’ve done pretty much nothing. I think I’m sufficiently scared now to actually get up off my butt, so progress in the next little while may be slow.

Then again, maybe not! Christmas is fast approaching too. Must manage time. Also, must not fail school.

    Mini-charlotte:

Kersti handwarmers (the colours in this photo are awful, it’s much more purple/pink):

    And the Must Have sleeve:

I meant to take a picture of the package my Ben Folds book came in (finally!) but I didn’t get a chance. At any rate, it came from Sweden (!) so I forgive the taking a bit of time to get here. Elann, on the other hand…

Psst. I weakened. I was in a bad mood and decided to buy the Highland Wool – but I restrained myself, so just one sweater’s worth of Oxford Grey Heather for a ribby.

Also, not very much related: I stopped by Lush tonight before the movie (which was not as offensive as I was expected, and had its funny moments for sure) and I want my Lush. But the prices have gone up! The Creamed Coconut and Almond Smoothie used to be $11.95 (which was still pretty damn expensive, it doesn’t last long! Like three weeks, a month max!) and Sympathy for the Skin used to be something like $19.95. Booooo.

Not a very creative title, but there you have it.

I’m currently in the JCR (Junior Common Room) of University College, which is extremely crowded – very likely because of the rain. Anyway, I finally received something in the mail! Not my yarn (arghhh…but it could still come today) but the Ben Folds piano transcription book I ordered a few weeks ago. I haven’t had much time to play, but since I don’t have anything tomorrow until 5, I’ll probably play a lot then. Yay piano. Oh, and I got my refund from school today.

Knitting wise, I worked on my aunt’s mini-charlotte a bit yesterday, as well as my mum’s handwarmers. I’ve got the main part of one hand done (not the thumb) and have started the second one. Mmmmm, kersti is soooo squishy and nice. I also worked on my Must Have in front of the tv last night, and I’ve got a good amount of the sleeve done. I’ve pretty much memorized the pattern – it’s easy to see where I am in the central panel. So now it’s going faster since I don’t need to refer to the pattern, and I’ve got my cabling without a cable needle down.

Pictures tonight – could be late, because I’m going to see Team America with Kelly. Fitting night to see it, no? If you’re an american, go vote! Pssttt….vote Kerry.
