  • my pen ran out of ink

So now I’ll have to go buy some more, since that was my favourite pen! (Using another colour, in the meantime.)

I took some pictures last night, but since I don’t really have time to resize and all that, I’ll share some other things.

Alison’s skull sweater rocks my socks!

The photography on Sweet Georgia is AMAZING. I want to take pictures like that. Well, not exactly like that, because it’s not really my style, but as skillful as that.

Looking at stuff on Sephora kind of makes me want to get into wearing makeup again. Really nice makeup. Classic colours, just that one lip-gloss-that-makes-me-put-together kind of thing. Oh Stila, Philosophy, Lorac, Nars….why must you torment me so? But then I also look at Lush stuff (which I actually do use until it’s gone, which isn’t difficult at all) and I want yummy natural body lotions and stuff that don’t have whacks of chemicals.

Hey! We should get together on an order from Sephora online. The prices are cheaper than getting them here – and there’s free shipping on $120 CAD or more. And while I could easily spend that much, I uh…really shouldn’t? Anyone interested?

Minimal knitting content: I finished the scarf for my cousin D and started another for a friend (pictures forthcoming). I’ve also decided to make a black scarf out of Mission Falls wool for my teenaged-boy cousin M. Oh, and since I couldn’t sleep last night I cast on for the back of my Must Have.

    Happy Sunday!

  • plans

I’m having a hard time getting into things today. Maybe it’s because I only woke up 40 minutes ago (I went to bed around 4, 4:30) and I’m groggy. Maybe because I haven’t eaten/had caffeine today (no caffeine after 7 for today, man). At any rate, I’m thinkin’ about my knittin’.

I’m SO behind in my Christmas knitting. After this test I’ll have to churn out a couple of scarves. List of scarves following my very cool, very plush-feeling scarf pattern which uses two strands of classic wool and 1×1 rib (i’ll put up a picture sometime):
    blue + black: cousin D
    grey + cream: friend
possibly blue+green (involves buying a skein of blue…or I could mix with the highland wool! yeah, i’ll do that): dad
cabled scarf: grandpa -> I’d better get on this. I might have to go buy two skeins of classic wool that are actually the same dyelot and restart (I’ve done basically nothing anyway)

    Other presents:
I think I might cop out and give my cousin T some yarn. Maybe two skeins of the Inca Gold Alpaca (yummm)
Socks for sister – waiting for needles
Something for my other sister…still not sure! Armwarmers?
Grandma…maybe a hat, but I don’t know what size her head is. maybe a scarf.
Mom: so apparently she wants a capelet (then I can give her the handwarmers for her birthday). Problem: I don’t know what yarn to use. I don’t think she can really wear wool (maybe a really soft blend or something), and she wants it to be somewhat dressy (to wear over a dress). Any suggestions for yarn?

For me (not going to happen for awhile):
    jo sharp sweater
    must have cardigan
    lotech
..and I need to figure out what to make with all this highland wool. I think I want arans, or at least some kind of texture. And probably pullovers, in contrast to all my cardigans lately. I was thinking maybe the bed and breakfast pullover:

And I really like the Shimmer aran from a few years back..

But I dunno. I also really like these sweaters Aven’s made: Ridged Rib pullover and “honeycomb classic”.

    Back to studying.

  • little things

Well that Bawls (it’s pronounced “balls”) seems to be doing its voodoo, as I am not sleepy. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), I’m a little shaky-speedy. Hm. Well, long as I can still read my own handwriting. I spent some quality hours at Robarts (I would’ve spent more hours there but they closed at 11) and now I’m settling in to work again after a looooooong break (to come home, eat, and take a shower). T minus 60 hours.

Oh, and my first order of the Highland Wool came from Elann! It’s very soft – I’m impressed. I might just have to…

    I’m totally kidding. Seriously.
