  • two more little things (no knitting content)

    1) Joyce gave me a present today at SnB! Aww. She’s so sweet – a book called “how to be HAPPY, dammit!” and a yummy smelling candle. Thanks hon!

    2) Denny – I just checked out that picture of megan’s new cell over at yarn harlot, and you know what it is? Each of the horizontal bar things has three indents in it (left, middle, right) that are the numbers. It’s just that they’re connected.

  • a star, bay-bee

Well, I haven’t got pictures this time, but I thought a post was in order.

I’m making headway on the last-minute presents! I finished knitting the pieces to another Pasha tonight at SnB – love how it goes so fast. The sewing up is a different matter, though. That might have to be down to the wire – like Thursday night or even Friday night.

I’ve also started a simple garter stitch triangular scarf for my grandmother, out of TLC Cotton Plus in red. Gotta work on that every spare moment! This Christmas knitting thing is insane – and this is only my immediate family and first cousins, not like some people who knit for their “ex-roommate’s mother”! :p

There was a reporter and photographer at SnB today – so look for me in the ID section of the Toronto Star sometime soon, ha. I always find the media things hilarious for some reason, especially the photographers. I hope I look okay!

So here are my plans for knitting up a storm after Christmas knitting is completed…
    – the koigu gloves
    – finish the Must Have
    – Clapotis (I’ve already started – one straight section done!)
    – scarf, hat and mittens (pour MOI)
    – then onto mariah

I think that boxing day at the store I’ll get Cotton Fleece for some very tall socks, and maybe some alpaca, manos, and fleece artist. Damn man, I didn’t really feel like buying yarn for awhile there but now I’m all excited! I also really want some of the Elann Highland Wool Chunky (on sale Tuesday), but I don’t know what colour to get. As long as it’s on the sneak peek page, what do y’all think?

  • five days

I’m not quite finished, but I am getting there!

First up, my dad’s scarf is done. It needs to be Eucalan-ed and blocked out quite a bit – the edges are a bit ruffled, and it needs more length.

I also finished the “not-knit-round scarf” from Sally Melville’s Book 2: The Purl Stitch. It’s pretty, but I don’t know if it’ll be big enough if I sew it up – I’m thinking of adding ties and making it more of an open capelet.

A woman at Second Cup came up to me today to ask what stitch I was doing. It’s purdy.

Let’s see, what else…oh, I made a scarf for a friend’s birthday on Friday, out of one strand of eyelash and one of Eros, and 20 mm needles. Dang, that goes fast! No picture of the scarf, but I did have some leftovers. I’m thinking of using them for ribbon on gifts.

I’m almost up to the pinky on the Koigu glove, version 2, and it fits much better this time around. Saturday night at dinner (at my aunt’s house), I worked on those legwarmers I started a few days ago, and even worked a few rows on the Must Have. I’m aiming to get the Must Have done over the holiday, and I really want to make Clapotis soon too. I’ve also really taken a liking to Cross-country, so that’s something to think about as well!
