  • c-c-c-c…

Damn, it’s cold. Would’ve been a perfect day to wear my oatmeal top-down raglan, but I haven’t gotten around to trying to stretch it out again.

My Highland Wool has been bought by Leanne (I think), so yay! I also received a refund from Helloknitty.com – I’d ordered a couple balls of fixation from them but hadn’t heard anything about it being shipped. So I emailed and asked for my money to be refunded if it hadn’t gone yet. So now I’ll have some money in my Paypal account to put towards that Elann order, although that also means I need to get another four balls of Esprit for Mon Petit Chou. Ah well, at least I didn’t end up paying so much more for the Fixation.

What else…not much going on, I’m working on a project that I miiiiight submit to Knitty’s fall issue depending on how it turns out. So I can’t blog about that. But there will hopefully be some other progress and non-boring entries soon…

…might have to be after my big test on Monday, though.

  • take it off my hands!

Thanks for all the compliments on the manos cardi! It’s a bit light to wear right now, but once the weather warms up I’m sure I’ll wear it lots.

I went to Elann and, for fun, put a whole bunch of stuff into my shopping cart that I would buy if I had money – this was all stuff that I could come up with projects for. Total – a little over $200 CDN. Yikes. Then I whittled away at the list, deleting a whole bunch of Sonata cotton (just went up today) and reducing the number of balls of yarn. I’ve made it down to three yarns:

Berroco Pronto Print – 15 balls
For either the “Cashmere Pullover” from Weekend Knitting, or a Corrugated asymmetrical sweater, both by Teva Durham.

    Elann Esprit – 5 balls
For a sweet, summery top based on “stripes go round” from last summer’s IK.

Schachenmayr Aurora Colour – 7 balls
For either a summer top or another Clapotis.

Total: still over $100 CDN. Hrmph. I’m definitely getting the Esprit soon, but the others I’m sure about…maybe if I can destash?

  • lion brand and lorna’s laces

    Sigh. I’m tired.

Just a few thoughts on knit.1, and I’m feeling rather lazy with the pictures –
    1) I like the cover sweater, except for the fact that it’s drop-sleeve.
    2) Rainbow tank by Teva Durham is awesome.
    3) the ribbon crop-top (number 40) isn’t bad either.
    4) That hotpant overall is just WRONG.
    5) Enough with the crocheted bikinis!
    6) How can such a small magazine cost so much…next time I’ll think harder before buying.

    Ahhhh. Nice yarn.

The darker bits are actually dark purple/brown, and the whole sock is quite a bit more pink than it appears here. This sock’s taking forever though, mainly because I haven’t had much time to knit. I knit all day at work*, then when I come home I need to study (which involves typing, and thus the use of one’s hands). I was hoping to put up a picture of the manos cardi today, but..maybe tomorrow. When I can get someone to take a picture of me in it.

Rachel – I did get your Paypal, and it went out in the mail today (too busy friday to get it out). Shouldn’t take too long to reach you!

*edit: when I say i knit all day at work, that is work knitting. i don’t get to keep the pieces I knit while at work – they’re for the shop. so what I really mean is, I don’t get to knit much for ME. I’m selfish that way.
