    Hey, it’s a knit outfit!

    Ubernatural
Pattern: Ubernatural from Magknits, by Glampyre
Yarn: Katia Pisco, from Elann, double stranded, somewhere around 7-8 skeins
Needles: Denise US 15 (10 mm)
    Started: May 12, 2005
    Finished: May 24, 2005

A super fast knit. I should’ve done another two increase rows if I wanted it to close over my bust properly, but oh well.
Changes: lengthened the sleeves, lengthened total body, more increase rows, reduced ribbing, no body shaping, fewer buttons.

    Wavy Skirt
Pattern: from Interweave Knits Spring 2005
Yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, “Candy Apple”, 4 skeins
    Needles: Denise US 5, 6, 7 (3.75, 4, 4.5 mm)
    Started: April 25, 2005
    Finished: May 24, 2005

I made up a size between the two sizes given, and it’s a tad loose in the waist but with the drawstring it’s fine. Comfy – I think I’ll wear it today!
Changes: made up a size, lengthened st st portion, double length chain drawstring.

I’ve been doing some other, small stuff lately:

I knit a swatch, for a skrit for my little sister.

And I’m knitting a little scarf out of leftover Mango Moon recycled silk.

    Have a good day!

  • of buttons and things

I went to Fabricland today in search of buttons for Ubernatural. Their buttons aren’t too great, but it’s pretty close to my house and I get 50% off buttons. I searched, silently lamenting the fact that the buttons I liked were too small.

I don’t know what I was thinking, but the buttons I bought are way huge.

I suppose the buttonholes grew and grew until in my mind, no button could conquer them!

That’s a quarter next to the button. At any rate, I think the buttons will, in fact, work. I’ll make them work, dammit.

In other news, I’ve started the edging on the wavy skirt:

I love doing that edging! Love, love.

    Know what else I love?

    Cotton-ease…

However, I don’t like paying $20 in duty and taxes to get said cotton-ease (just the ones in the bags; also, there’s a lot more of those top two colours, I just didn’t want to put in them in the picture).

Oh oh oh, one more picture, a rather random one:

Addi Turbos (fresh out of hot water to soften the cords for the Magic Loop class I’m teaching tomorrow) hanging out with my guitar. Cool.

  • so close, so far

I’ve got lots of progress pics!

First of all, the purple socks are finally seeing some action – just an inch or so until the heel.

    purple socks

I started a new project for during lectures – “stripes go round” from Interweave Knits summer 2004, in Elann Esprit. Obviously, there are no stripes.

    no stripes

Some other projects are sooo very close to completion!

The licorice cardi just needs a zipper (I will try very hard to do that this weekend):

(Is it poor form to use the Rachael for a non-FO? I think it’s ok.)

And Ubernatural just needs some buttons, which I’ll hopefully pick up tomorrow – it’s a bit, er, tight, but I’m hoping it’ll stretch a bit.

I really need to finish some more stuff off (like the purple socks, these sweaters, the wavy skirt, maybe make some headway on Cozy) before I start any new projects. One of the priorities for the new projects – a skirt for my little sister; she wants to be able to wear it before school is out. I should get on that.

Thanks to Toni for sending me some Cotton-ease!

To a reader named Judi, who made my top-down cardi: I’m so sorry, I accidentally deleted your email and wasn’t able to reply! I’m so glad you enjoyed the pattern.
