  • size zeros, please

I have discovered a) that size 0’s for socks is really cool (love the fabric) and b) clover double points are really quite nice, and pointy like I like ’em.

My favourite part of the sock is the heel flap. I love knitting it. The only thing with the size 0 dpns? I still love my Garnstudio circs, and I love that I can just throw magic loop socks in my bag without worry about them as much.

    Something else going on…

The rest of the the wool top I spun up here, all done up in a bulky two-ply. Lovin’ it! They’re pretty big skeins, although I don’t know how much. Finished yarn coming soon!

  • I needs me a wheel

Denny’s yesterday was fun! Stephanie and Emma were there as well. I hoarded Denny’s majacraft little gem, and spun up some white corriedale.

The big skein is a pretty damn big skein – about 160 yards of chunky/bulky 2-ply. The little skein is just the singles left over from the bigger bobbin. I’ll be kool-aid dyeing shortly! I can’t wait to get a wheel, but I’m going to restrain myself until the end of term (end of June), lest I be too distracted. I found the website of a place in Kingston that includes shipping and taxes in their price, and has a good price on the Kiwi.

In knitting news, I’ve finally finished a few things, so after a wash and block they’ll be ready for their debut!

  • oops, and a fix

The other night I finished up the edging on the wavy skirt. I put it down, took a look, and saw this:

A purl stitch in the middle of an ocean of stockinette. Now, if this was in an inconspicuous place on the skirt, I might’ve left well enough alone. But no, it was smack dab on the front. What to do? Why, snip it.

    and then graft.

All fixed, although now I’m not quite sure how to hide those ends. I’ll think about it later tonight.

What else…I’ve been working diligently on the purple socks, because I want to get them done.

I stashed a little bit this weekend…some roving (going to spin at Denny’s house today! Right now!):

And some yarn – cotton, viscose and silk.

It’s sportweight (24 sts/4″). Any suggestions for summery tops?
