The shawl I’ve been working on is finally ready! Bestellen features a fun cable & lace pattern for awesome squish and warmth. The shawl is worked top-down, with elongated wings for extra wrap-ability, and finishes off with a simple ribbing. Got a couple of skeins of sock yarn? Of course you do!

  • New ebook: On My Way

New patterns! This little collection features a hat, handwarmers, a shawl, and a shrug, all in lightweight yarn with an easy to memorize lace pattern. They’re all quick and intuitive to knit – I had a really nice time working up some accessories between bigger sweater projects. Each pattern is $5 on its own, or get the whole collection for just $10! Perfect for the transition to fall and (shhh) gift knitting.

ANTICIPATE is a hat and handwarmer set, worked in 1 skein of Socks that Rock! The slouchy hat features alternating stockinette and lace sections. The little fingerless mitts use very little yarn and feature gusseted thumbs and offset lace.

AWAIT is a simple side-to-side shrug in stretchy ribbing and lace. This easy knit is perfect for throwing over your tees, tanks, and dresses to take them into the first days of fall! Okay, it doesn’t use just one skein of yarn, but it’s close – I used 2 skeins of luscious madelinetosh pashmina for mine.

And if you made it this far down the post, I have a giveaway for you, dear readers. I’m giving away a copy of the On My Way ebook – just comment on this post and tell me which pattern you’d like to knit! Please make sure your email address is correct, and I’ll pick a random winner later this week.

  • Twist Collective Fall 2014: Roxton

The fall issue of Twist Collective is out and I have a new pullover pattern in it!

    RoxtonPhoto: Twist Collective

Roxton is a simply shaped raglan pullover worked seamlessly from the bottom up. The fun stitch pattern uses a combination of dropped stitches and twisted stitches. I knit this sweater in about 3 weeks in April!

    Here’s my original sketch…

…and swatch. Unfortunately I don’t think I took any photos of the sweater before I sent it off, whoops.

    Roxton

The neck ribbing is shaped with short rows, so it’s deeper in the back.

    Roxton Photo: Twist Collective

There are a few stockinette stitches on each side, to make it easy to keep track of your lace repeats. If you want to add waist shaping, it’s the perfect place to work some decreases and increases.
