  • deadline knitting

I feel like I’m swimming in knitting, now that I’ve got three – count’em – THREE projects on the needles with deadlines. One is halfway there – the present for my youngest sister:

I think I will try to do a scarf as well, on big needles.

Yesterday we were pelted by thunder, lightning, crazy rain and even hail – it was nuts! Luckily I was inside, baking lemon cake (yum). In the evening, however it was blackout time. So what did I do?

    Knit by candlelight!

The power went out around 8:30 pm and the blackout lasted until 11. I actually did get a good amount of knitting done – the (not-so-much) secret project is halfway done.

Off to accomplish lots of knitting – I have the day off and all to myself.

  • gahh.

Just a short entry, as I really should be studying!

Not a good knitting day. I’m having so much trouble binding off with the proper tension on my OSW! The first time was too tight (although maybe I should’ve just left it like that) – I did a normal bindoff. Then I undid that, and did an elastic bind off (*k2tog, put st back on left needle*) and it was too loose! I HATE undoing a bindoff.

This time – normal bindoff with a bigger needle. Last time I’m doing this!

  • the splits

When your yarn looks like this:

(Yep, that’s all one strand. Four 4-ply strands.)

    …you often get these.

The Madil bamboo is also EXTREMELY SPLITTY. And this one doesn’t recover as well as the Pingouin (for the sapphire tank).

Another type of split – a split decision. I don’t know which of the following to put on the sleeves of the Banana Cream cardi.

    Branching Leaves?

    Or Diamond Spiral?

Sometimes I lean towards one, sometimes the other. I’m thinking the lace because it’s for a warmer-weather cardi anyway – I can do the leaves on something else in the fall or winter. What do you think?

From the same book, this one is just a pattern that I’d relaly like to do sometime – don’t know what in, though.

    Leaf Cascade.
