She’s beautiful, flattering and feels lovely (that’s a damn great yarn!). The pattern is well written and would have been fast, if I wasn’t so lazy. Thanks for the pattern, Alexandra!

*this should mean “sunset”. if it doesn’t, let me know!!

  • ASC tank = all done

    Et voila.

    A slightly more flattering pic…

All Seasons Cotton tank (maybe i should come up with better names for my projects, eh?
Yarn: Rowan All Seasons Cotton, 4.5 skeins
Needles: Denise US 9 (5.5 mm)
    Pattern: my own
    Started: May 6, 2005
    Finished: May 14, 2005

It’s not my best work, and isn’t the most slimming, but it’s super comfy and was fast. I think I’ll be sticking to lighter weights for closer-fitting garments, though…

Anyway, in other news…progress on ubernatural. I’m making the sleeves longer, probably to 3/4 length. I’m a tad worried about the smallness factor…but I think it’ll be ok.

And here’s the progress on the Wavy Skirt – I’ve got about 20 more rows of feather and fan (of over 250 stitches!) and then the lace edging, which is fun but definitely time consuming.

Leslie said she was able to subscribe to my new feed via bloglines, but I can’t seem to see it. Hm.

  • last minute knitted gift

So originally I was going to give my mom my Charlotte’s Web – I’ve only worn it once, after all. But I decided against that at the last moment and decided to knit a triangular scarf out of the Hand Maiden Silk/Cashmere I bought at the Frolic. So….

    11:30 pm. Casting on.

    12:00 am. Six inches done.

1:30 am. After CSI and some other random TV-watching, I’m almost done, sort of.

2:10 am. Bind off take one.

2:30 am. Bind off take two – sewn bind off.

2:40 am. Blocking – using blocking wires!

In the light of the morning…all done.

    Laura’s Last Minute Kercheif
    Materials:
    1 skein Hand Maiden 2-ply silk and cashmere (300 m/50 g) or 200-250 m of laceweight yarn
    1 set 6 mm (US 10) needles

With yarn doubled, cast on three stitches.
Every row: slip 1 pwise with yarn in front, knit to last stitch, yarn over, knit 1.
Repeat row until you’re almost out of yarn/time/patience.
Bind off using a stretchy bind off.
    Block and you’re done!
