  • so very close

In six hours, I shall be officially done exams. I say officially, because I tend to leave exams early. This one is going to be painful, but at least it’ll be over.

Since I don’t actually have any knitting content (I ripped the glove and started over; I bought beads for my mini-charlotte and stringed them), here’s some knitting consumerism…

    Brooks Farm is SO. BEAUTIFUL.
Redbirdknits is on week three, 20% off everything in stock. Since the cone of vanilla JaggerSpun Wool/Silk is gone, I’m not feeling a massive pull towards buying anything..yet.

I am, however, voicing my intent to purchase yarn tonight as SnB after my exam. Something…Fleece Artist-y, perhaps?

Off to cram for a final hour.

  • glove love ‘n hate

Gahhhhh. First off, gloves are AWESOME. As are 2.75 mm dpns. What is NOT AWESOME is realizing more than halfway through the glove that said gloves are too big for one’s tiny hands. When I used Koigu to make fingerless mittens before, I used 3mm needles and the 7 sts/in numbers. They fit perfectly (48 sts). This time I’m using 2.75 mm and the 8 sts/in numbers (56 sts).

Alas, I just measured the gauge on both, and they’re both 8 sts/in (even though current glove’s stitches look smaller). So. The question is, should I use the 7 sts/in numbers (48 sts), or the 8 sts/in numbers for a smaller size (child’s 6-8, 52 sts). Someone, give me some advice!

I’ll be over in the corner with my linguistics notes, trying to read them while frogging this beautiful glove.

  • knitting ADD

Yep, I’m suffering from a bad case of startitis.

The start of some koigu gloves, pour moi. Pattern from Ann Budd’s Handy Book of Patterns, koigu KPPPM, US 2 Brittany dpns.

The start of a pair of legwarmers for me – one strand of Patons Classic (or P. Clizzy, as la brainy would say) and one of Kidsilk Haze. YUM.

I’m magic-looping these legwarmers, and while it’s faster than dpns, it could be faster. Anyone want to lend me a shorty Denise cord (the 9.5″; I bought my set before they started making them) or a 12″ circ, US 7??

Mini-charlotte is done except for the bindoff and blocking!

I’m exhausted. Two exams in the next two days.
