    winterwoods sampler

I ordered the Winterwoods Sampler from Posie Gets Cozy a little while ago, along with a couple of hoops and needles. I did some cross-stitch when I was a kid, but haven’t done it in years – this sampler just spoke to me though! I started it over the long weekend (Victoria Day here) and have been completely obsessed. Some days I didn’t even knit! The only downside for me is that it’s a bit messy what with the threads and chart and everything – I’m used to just plopping down on the couch with a ball of yarn.

    wee kettle!

It’s just so pleasing. I do have a couple of small mistakes (missed a space, crossed the wrong way) but that’s okay. I’m over half done, so I need to start looking for a nice frame!

  • on the needles

What’s on my needles? Lots, but not a lot I can share with you!

    garter stitch

Squishy garter stitch in Colinette Jitterbug.

    i-cord

A random scrap endeavour – i-cord knit with the very last bits of sock yarns, held double and Russian joined together for no ends. Maybe one day I can make a rug out of this.

    collar

Just off the needles, a super plain cardigan knit out of superwash merino I’ve had in the stash forever. Still needs the ends woven in and a zipper. I promise I’ll grab some FO shots when it’s done! It was quite nice just knitting something that didn’t require a lot of thinking.

  • cozy cashmere

I knit up this little cowl ages ago and never blogged it! I’ve been terribly remiss in my FO shoots. This one is just single round stripes in some leftovers of DK weight cashmere, mostly Handmaiden 4ply. It was a pleasure to knit up, and super warm.

A little print pattern will be available at lettuce knit starting this weekend – we have lots of Handmaiden 4-ply cashmere too!

P.S. Since several people have asked about the ornaments – the sweaters are based on the pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, and the little Santa hat and stocking are my own. I’ll put up a wee pattern for them this weekend!
