    sagano shawl

Sagano is an area located in western Kyoto, Japan, where the serene landscape includes one of the most spectacular bamboo forests in all of Japan. This textured scarf-sized shawl evokes the quiet beauty of bamboo in its leafy main stitch and stemlike ribbed edging. Use a special, soft yarn and keep the drafts away!

    FINISHED SIZE
46 inches / 116 cm across the top, 15 inches / 38 cm down the centre of the shawl. The size of this scarf is easily modified to be larger by using a heavier yarn or working more repeats.

Special thanks to Bonnie and Erica for test knitting!

    Fingering Weight yarn, 450 yards.
Shown in Wullenstudio Sock Yarn (75% merino, 25% nylon; 450 yards/100g) in Green Tambourine.

    ysolda's snapdragon

I decided to knit up ysolda’s snapdragon tam while I was editing the pattern – fun! I finished it in about 24 hours, but still haven’t blocked it (which it really needs). When the cooler weather arrives I’m sure I’ll be a little more motivated!

    the tinest hint

There’s a certain fibre event coming up next month, that starts with the letter “R”. People knit new things for it. I have blue Koigu on the needles. Now, I’m not saying that these three things are related, but you never know.

Thanks for all the well wishes; I’m feeling much better after a couple days hibernating and a LOT of sleep. And oatmeal raisin cookies!

    Hibiscus Shawl

Hibiscus was inspired by a trip to the Hawaiian Islands. Featuring an easy star mesh pattern, this shawl is large enough to wrap around you but scrunchy enough for a scarf. And Hibiscus has a hidden surprise – a twist-stitch flower!

    SIZE
60 inches / 152 cm across the top, 20 inches / 50 cm down the centre back

    Hibiscus shawl
