Ripped – this was a great sweater idea but just not working in this iteration. It’ll come back around.

WIP – these socks have been on the needles forever. Just finished one with a tiny bit of yarn to spare, started the second right away. Good knitting to keep in my purse.

    made it!

WIP – Sheepcote is coming along. Both sleeves done, and a few inches of the body. Part of the reason I’m working on it a bit slowly is because I know I don’t have enough yarn and I need to order some! (Manos Silk Blend in Juniper.)

  • spinning my wheel

I’ve been getting to my spinning wheel more these days and I love it! It’s a nice change from knitting and my arms/shoulders thank me for the break.

    sunny spinning

I have my wheel close to my desk now, so I can really pull it over to spin for short bursts if I feel like it. I had a baggie of this rather unremarkable but fun to spin Shetland that I just really wanted to spin up, and I ended up doing the whole thing in an afternoon.

    shetland

Fast and squishy. 65 grams, 200 yards of 2ply.

And I finally finished this super soft, silky blend from Into the Whirled – it’s merino, superwash merino, and silk, in the colourway “Candy Bracelet”. Took awhile to spin but it should come up in fun stripes.

It’s 370 yards of 3ply (chain plied), so I might make some socks or something out of it. Thanks Brenna!

I’m trying to work on spinning down my stash a bit. Spun yarn takes up a little less space than fibre, right?

  • Ikemura Pullover

New pattern day – no joke!

    Ikemura

Ikemura is a fun, comfortable pullover featuring colourblocking and a swingy, easy to wear A-line shape. The notched neckline and extra-long sleeves are finished with simple ribbing. Ikemura is knit seamlessly from the top down with raglan sleeves. The upper yoke is knit flat, then joined to be worked in the round for the lower body and sleeves.

Meant to be worn with -2”-0” / -5-0cm ease at the bust to ensure that the shoulders are a good fit – the swingy shape will skim over many body shapes.
For the best fit, measure a sweater you like the fit of, and make the size closest to it. Shown in size 35.25” / 88cm with about an inch of negative ease.
