• Behind the Scenes

A few photos of my Orbital Ornaments along the way! They really took over for awhile, there.

    Orbital Ornaments, behind the scenes!

Tonight (Tuesday November 12) I’ll be at the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitter’s Guild, speaking about designing accessories and using spreadsheets! Plus I’ll have Astrosocks, a really cool effort to send handknit socks into space. Come say hi and knit a few stitches on them if you’re in the area, won’t you?

  • Orbital Ornaments!

New pattern day! I’ve been working hard on these little guys for ages, and I am SO HAPPY to share them with you for this crafting holiday season. (Yes, I said it.)

    Orbital Ornaments

I really, really, especially love the rocket.

    Orbital Ornaments

Celebrate the season (any season) with these fun, nontraditional ornaments! These space-themed ornaments work up quickly and are great for your stash of sock yarn leftovers, in all sorts of colours. They would also make a great baby mobile or playtime toys. Embroidered initials would be lovely for personalized gifts – embellish to your heart’s desire. All of the Orbital Ornaments are worked in the round on double pointed needles.

    Check out the pattern page.

  • Two steps forward…

    picot edging

CO 3, BO 5. This is going to take awhile.

(Yarn is a fyberspates silk/cashmere, yarn is my Wychwood shawl with a lace edging instead of seed stitch and a picot bind off.)
