  • so close

The 2x2x3x1 Ribby Cardie from ChicKnits is sooo close to being done. No pics at the moment, because my sister has claimed the digital camera for her birthday party tomorrow. I’ve changed the collar on the ribby, and I think I’m going to like it. I also have to put in the front bands and then sew in the zipper – I haven’t decided yet whether I’m going to pick up stitches for the bands, as written, or knit sew-on bands.

I’ve wound off a big ball of the Naturelle 8/8 cotton to start my Bella cardie. An executive decision on that one – I’m going to make it duster-length. So that’s a lot of knitting, but since it’s lacy perhaps it won’t be too boring.

I had realllly wanted to go down to the market for SnB tomorrow afternoon, but I just don’t think I can justify an hour travel time there and back when I should be at home studying. So I’ll just have to wait until Wednesday for that – oh well. C’est la vie.

P.S. Yes, it’s after three o’clock in the morning. Yes, I’m going to bed now.

  • Just got back from Lewiscraft, among other errands (picked up “The Time Traveler’s Wife”, which was on hold for me at the library). I bought 7 skeins of Patons Classic Wool in Chestnut Brown for a Must Have Cardigan, and 3 other colours for random hats/mitts/legwarmers. I also returned a bunch of stuff (sliding some in even though it was over the new 90-day return limit) so I ended up paying $26 for the ten skeins.

Gotta love those sales. I was even tempted to buy some Bernat Boa – I don’t really like novelty yarns, but just something about that one…

  • Pictures!

I finished the body of the ribby cardie and joined the sleeves.

And progress on the kitty hat (none since yesterday)

I really need to study this weekend (exam on Monday!) but I’ve got my eye on finishing at least the knitting on the ribby. And I’m also thinking ahead to my next project…making this:

into this (cardigan version). Click the pic for a blurry closeup of the colour.

Books I ordered from Amazon.ca through my friend (she has a credit card) have arrived! So the piano transcriptions of “The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner” and “Whatever and Ever Amen” by Ben Folds Five may distract me a little in the coming days.
