    Damn you, Elann!! Gahhh!!!!

I did resist this afternoon, and now my first choice (oxblood) is all gone. My second choice is Chocolate Truffle. Must…resist….until all is gone.

    More later.
I got marks back on a couple big tests and suffice it to say I’m dissatisfied with myself. I hate how other people can do so much less work and get better marks. Happy knitting pictures will have to wait until later this weekend, I’m too goddamn depressed.

Julie asked if I would do a narrative of my “Bawls experience”. There isn’t much to it, but here goes –

I bought the Bawls at Shoppers Drug Mart for $2.99 (CDN) for 300 ml. I actually bought it on Wednesday, but I didn’t end up drinking it until Friday night, at Robarts library, around 10 pm. I’d had a Coke but that wasn’t really helping. It tasted sort of like a very mild cream soda, just sweet and carbonated. Came home, took a bit of a break, then continued studying. I didn’t feel sleepy at all, and once I started working again I could concentrate pretty well. Unfortunately a few hours later I did get the shakes, which happens to me sometimes when I drink coffee. Anyway, I ended up going to bed around 4 am and tossing and turning a bit before I could get to sleep.

So…it did keep me awake, and would I drink it again? Sure, but only well before the night before the test – I’d need to be able to get some sleep that night!

Knitting content: I finished the grey and cream scarf, and now I am officially sick of that type of scarf (even though it’s thick and lovely and I want one). It’s too bad that the scarves I have remaining are all men’s – no lace or anything. I think I will do the next ones lengthwise, though. Oh, and I nixed buying yarn for my cousin – I looked through my yarn and found some sari silk, so I think I’ll put that with some black wool and make a lengthwise long skinny scarf.

As a break from all the scarf knitting, I think I’ll concentrate on mini-charlotte for a bit. She’s been waiting patiently.

    First up, some progress reports.

Must Have Cardigan sleeves – I’m about 4″ into the back now.

I finished one sleeve of my cabled ribby, and am working on the second one. This one goes nice and fast! Thank you, size 10.5 needles.

I started a sock for my sister, with Elann Esprit.

I love the stripes. I love my cute little Brittanys. Unfortunately….this sock is no more. I was having horrible laddering problems (you can kind of see it in the picture, even) even though I’ve used dpns lots of times with no troubles. This is the third time I’m knitting this sock in under 24 hours! Anyway, this time I’ll be extra careful, and if it looks like it wants to ladder I’ll start shifting the stitches around the needles a bit. Now I really want to make socks, for me, out of this yarn in “Shades of Grey” – they would be so pretty. Alas, no yarn, because…

I reorganized my yarn, incorporating all the Highland Wool I’ve gotten from Elann (it’s on the top shelf, on the left).

All I can say is….oy. I’d better go knit now.
