    Remember this?

Yes? No? Well, I did finish the armbands as well. And then it sat in the WIP pile for awhile. Now it looks like this.

I decided I was never going to wear a vest, so riiiiip. It’s now becoming a full sweater, although I’m not sure what to do with the sleeves, or how much yarn I’ll have left for them – so I did a provisional cast on (for the first time) and I’ll do the sleeves top-down after I finish the yoke. I’m using the decreases from glampyre, for a seamless yoke. I think I might duplicate stitch something in black over the red at the heart, maybe.

This might also become a gift, if I can find a recipient.

  • slow down

I’ve found that lately, I’m trying to race through my projects so I can start something new. I suppose it’s my way of not getting bored with one project at a time, but that seems to be misfiring as I’m rather bored with all my projects. I need to just slow down, and enjoy the process of knitting, rather than trying to finish a bazillion sweaters before winter’s over.

    Enter Cozy, from Knitty.

I’m using JaggerSpun Wool Silk 4/8, in Steel. It’s 50% merino and 50% tussah silk, and is just sooo soft and smooth. I’ve done one repeat (after I charted the lace pattern) and I’m just going to take it slow. A meditation project.

Now I gotta get back to this – five pages (including graphs), due tomorrow, and I haven’t written a word. Eep.

  • the blahs

Yep, another case of the February blahs in March. I’m feeling rather uninspired by my knitting projects at the moment, and a large part of that is wanting it to be spring so I can knit (and then wear) spring things. Ah well, I suppose I should take this time to work on schoolwork and wait for the knitting muse to come on back with a vengance, mm?

    I’m working on the not-cashmere pullover…

I’m going up the front yoke, then soon shall come the collar, back yoke/sleeves, and connecting the back side-to-side piece. And then picking up and knitting down from the center pieces for length, although I think I might make it shorter than the pattern calls for. Although the yarn is bulky, it still feels like I’m not moving much because the rows are so long.

I do have one spring/summer project firmly lodged in the queue – the Gibson Girl pullover from last summer’s Interweave.

The blurriness wasn’t just me; the picture’s blurry in the magazine too. Anyway, I need to decide on a yarn – I think I will do a sport or DK-weight mercerized cotton, but what colour should I do? I don’t want to do it too dark, but I want it in a colour that I’ll actually wear…suggestions?
