    tosh vintage

I hadn’t bought yarn in ages. madelinetosh vintage in candlewick – I’m thinking cables.

Thank you all so, so much for all your kind words. I know I wouldn’t be able to do what I do (and love) without this wonderful community, and I’m forever grateful.

I can’t resist posting another photo of the shawl I’m working on. It’s really satisfying.

  • what I bought

I didn’t buy a lot of stuff at Rhinebeck this year, because the budget (and space) is tight, plus we traveled with just carry on luggage! I didn’t even buy any fiber, which is a bit weird since it was the only thing I had on my list. Hm.

    wool fabric, project bag

Two fat quarters of wool herringbone, and a Rhinebeck project bag.

    greenwood hill merino

DK weight from Greenwood Hill Merino, which I always ogle!

    buttons

Beautiful buttons from the inimitable Jennie the potter – I love the gingko leaves.

    green mountain spinnery sock yarn

A skein of squishy, bouncy sock yarn from Green Mountain Spinnery.

    coffee scoop

A coffee scoop from Chester P. Basil’s. I want one of everything from them!

We do a secret gift exchange at the Rhinebeck house, and I received this pretty half apron from Christina! Thank you lovely lady!

Seedlings are happening! After last year’s critter carnage in my container garden, I’m trying to plan for ways to protect everything once it’s out on the balcony . Need to buy more chicken wire. Unfortunately it’s not pretty, but I’ll take functional if it prevents everything from being eaten by squirrels!

    tomatoes

Various heirloom tomato seedlings – I’m terrible about labelling my seedlings, but I’m ok with that. I mean, it’ll be clear once the fruit comes in, right?

    mint

    Tiny mint sprouts.

    cilantro

Cilantro, though now that I think about it I should start a dedicated pot and plant lots of seeds for maximum edibles.

    Knitting:

    scrumptious lace

Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace that I bought in the UK in 2011. I’ve been waiting for the perfect idea and I think I have it!

    madelinetosh pashmina

    Madelinetosh Pashmina in Stovepipe.

    cascade heritage silk

Cascade Heritage Silk. I’ve been working on this one for ages and just had to rip out the upper body (sleeve cap issues)…here’s hoping it’ll be done soon so I can wear it!
