    I lied. Pictures now.

    Corset Pullover
Pattern: from IK, by Robin Melanson
Yarn: Naturelle 8/8 from Elann, “dark linen”, most of a cone
    Started: March 20, 2005
    Finished: April 9, 2005

  • all seed stitch, all the time.

    Well, almost.

I’m almost done the red socks – I just need to bind off the second one, in fact! FO picture soon!

I finished the knitting on the Corset Pullover, and I also knit a swatch to throw in the wash to shrink, which I’ll then unravel to seam with. Rather than attaching the lace edging by grafting (which I could’ve done if I’d been smart and put the neck sts on a holder…but oh well) I just bound it off and sewed it on.

Some progress on the Monk’s Satchel – I’m marking every 12 inches as I go to make it easier to measure.

And the last thing, I started the Phildar jacket out of the Katia Pisco I got from Elann – it’s really soft stuff. I do keep pulling bits out of the yarn though – I suspect they’re bits of linen that didn’t quite get combined. It’s going really fast, and the yarn is so light that the 50 g balls have 96 yds of chunky weight.

edit: blogger is being HORRIBLE (“performance enhancements”)…riiiight. 10th time’s a charm.

  • sooo full

I think I ate too much dinner. Anyway, I’ve got a paper to write but I do have progress –

The sleeves of the Corset Pullover are done!

I’ll do the lace edging and figure out how to kitchener live stitches to bound off ones tomorrow at SnB. Also, the red socks are nearing completion – I’m alternating between the socks (I have to keep switching the needles, which is a pain) so I can use up all the yarn. I’m on the ribbing now.

I got my box of yarn from Elann!

The Fortissima sock yarn is soooo soft. I want to order more to make tank tops or fine gauge sweaters or something – but I think the buy, buy, buy temptation on that has passed somewhat – that’s a good thing. I think I’ll start the jacket with the Pisco tomorrow at SnB as well – I hope it’ll be a fast knit at 15 sts/4 in.

Thanks for all the compliments on the cardi! I’m still feeling the finishing bug, so I’m hoping to sew on those buttons tonight and maybe even baste in the zipper on the Lotech. Well, at least pin it in.

Two more things. 1) My friend Erin made a cardi! See her pics here. 2) I made a new pattern page for the cardi pattern, complete with new pictures. Check it out here.
