Anyway, to celebrate, I’ve got a new wee little pattern! Something to celebrate with – choose some yummy yarn and whip this scarf up!

A fun, quick-knitting scarf with just enough ruffle, perfect for showing off super soft yarns and handspuns! This scarf is shaped with short rows and gently curves towards the ends – perfect for wrapping around your neck with not too much bulk. Keep warm with a nice merino wool, or make it lighter in silk or cotton. Any way you work it, this scarf is just enough!

Materials
2 skeins Malabrigo Merino Worsted (215 yd/100g), colour; Pearl
5.5 mm 32-inch or longer circular needles
tapestry needle

Gauge
16 sts and 24 rows = 10cm/4in square in stockinette stitch

The Galileo Mittens pattern is finally ready for public consumption!

Bring some celestial beauty into your life with these unique and fun mittens. The Galileo mittens are worked in a mirrored, non-repeating stranded colourwork pattern on the hand that is reminicient of Renaissance astronomy charts and inspired by the stars. Striped cuffs and thumbs, as well as a diamond palm pattern, provide a visual geometric contrast. A close fit keeps your hands toasty while you contemplate the heavens.

Recommended for intermediate knitters.

Size
Women’s M [L]
Size L contains 5 extra rounds for additional length in the mitten hand.
Size can be further altered by changing the gauge and needle size.
For a larger mitten, use needles one size larger. For a smaller mitten, use needles one or two sizes smaller.

Finished Measurements
Palm Circumference: 8.25 inches around palm
Length: 10 [10.5] inches from tip to end of cuff

Important Sizing Note:
The Galileo Mittens shown here were knit to fit very small hands and are shorter than this pattern will
produce as written. The Chart as presented will result in a very slightly different pattern on the back of the hand, as several rounds were inserted before the decrease rounds at the top of the mitten (not shown). If your mittens look a bit different from the photo near the top of the hand, don’t worry! You’re still on the right track!

simple yet effective, version 2.0

After much hemming and hawwing, I’ve decided to offer the Noro version of the Simple Yet Effective Shawl pattern for sale here!

This mini shawl is a great accent to any outfit and helps ward off the chills! It’s worked in Noro Kureyon Sock in a fun striping pattern, but would be great knit out of any sock yarns you have laying about, especially handpaints and striping yarns. It uses just one 100-g ball of fingering weight yarn – but is also adaptable to any yarn weight you like!

Finished Measurements
45 inches across the top x 19 inches deep at center point

Materials
1 skein Noro Kureyon Sock (450 yd/100g) or at least 400 yards other fingering weight yarn
eta: I used colourway S185!
1 set 3.5mm/US 4 24″ or 32″ circular needles
stitch markers
tapestry needle

Gauge
Approximately 20 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm/4″ square in stockinette stitch

Difficulty
Easy – suitable for a beginner.
