First, the good stuff – I finished that neverending pair of legwarmers!

A skein and a bit of Paton’s Classic Merino, and one strand of Rowan Kidsilk Haze, held together on US 7 needles. I ended up a few inches short on the second legwarmer, not wanting to break into a new skein of the kidsilk, but I just ripped back the first one so they matched. They’re looooong. Also, since they’re so stretchy, they work as armwarmers too – at least now, before they’ve been all stretched out by my legs.

The not so good stuff….I hate the needles I’m using for my Esprit socks, that Collection bamboo circ I bought (same time I bought the Regia). The problem? The join.

You can kind of see it in this pic (looking at the shadow of the needle shows it, too). There’s this annoying ball of plastic at the end of the cord, then the needle starts. The stitches get stuck right between there! Argh! There’s so much pulling through with the magic loop, and this is SO irritating. I probably won’t be going downtown until Tuesday at least, and the snow is definitely making me not want to go out unnecessarily, so I can’t buy a new needle. I don’t even have 3.5 mm dpn’s that I could switch to, only 3 and 3.75.

    Grrrrrrrr.

The red and white scarf, it is done!

It’s nice and long, and snuggly! I’m wearing my Jo Sharp ribby in that picture, too.

More importantly, though, the pink socks are done!

I finished the second sock right up to the toe in lecture tonight, but I had to rip out the toe decreases when I got home because when I tried it on, the sock was a weeeeee bit short. They almost match (they’re really good on the cuff, but all the pictures I took ended up all red)…

…but not quite. Oh well, can’t win ’em all!

Yay for finished objects! I’ll update my gallery soon. In the meantime, I’ve got some more socks to start! They won’t be as mindless, though, because of increases for the leg. Maybe I’ll start some other kind of mindless stockinette project to take with me.

A one-hour earwarmer, knit to an episode of Star Trek: Voyager (love that show!). Yay, hopefully my ears won’t freeze as quickly tomorrow!

Progress on the red and white scarf…it’s getting nice and long.

And the state of my Must Have.

I’ve decided not to take the Must Have to SnB – too fiddly. I just want to KNIT! So, I’ll take the sock, that second legwarmer I’ve been working on, and the red and white scarf. Sound like too much? A girl needs choice.
