I first learned to knit at age 12, in a packed car on a family trip to Stratford, Ontario. I learned the long-tail cast on and the knit stitch, and I knit a long, long scarf before setting it down in favour of other assorted crafts – beading, sculpting, sewing, cross stitch. Years later, I was inspired to pick it up again when I saw a woman knitting on the bus. This time, I was ready to learn everything I could about this amazing craft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My book Teach Yourself Visually Sock Knitting was released by Wiley in 2008, and is still in print as of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my work, I strive to design garments and accessories that are both classic and modern, as well as flattering, comfortable, and above all wearable. I do my best to provide detailed, clear instructions and lots of sizes so that you can have the most enjoyable experience possible and love what you create. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to designing and publishing my own patterns, I have been working behind the scenes in technical editing and pattern development for magazines and books, as well as individual designers. In addition to tech editing over 20 issues and 7 books with Pom Pom Publishing, I have worked with Amirisu, Ysolda, and Laine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to knitting, I also crochet, spin, try to grow plants, and occasionally sew. I also adore anything to do with food and cooking. I take my photos with my Nikon D7500 and iPhone 13. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I live in Toronto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
