Time to get some things off the WIP list!

Goodbye, retro rib sock. Started in October and only this much done? I’m pretty sure this isn’t going to work out.

In more successful news, I’m working on the collar for the Urban Aran – I think I’ll probably finish that tonight, then block tomorrow.

And since the Retro Rib is toast, I need a plain sock to work on whenever – in Fleece Artist sock, Renaissance colourway. Aren’t the colours fabulous? I think this would’ve been a great yarn to do a pair of Jaywalker socks in, but I’m really wanting the plain sock about now.

I finally gave into my urge to buy some Blue Sky Alpaca – I bought 2 skeins of bulky in brown. Super warm scarf, here I come!

  • a little bit blurry

Not me (I wish). Some of the picture in this post, though.

I finished the Ultramerino socks – so. nice.

I think I need to make a pair for myself in every colour! Anyway, I used Ultramerino 6, colour 136, 1 skein. I did 48 stitches on 3.25 mm needles, and a 5″ cuff in 3×1 rib – and look how much yarn I had left over! Not even an exciting finish.

Next time I’ll do 5.75″ or even a 6″ cuff. Of course, now that I’ve said that, I’ll be punished by the Knitting Goddess, but oh well. Oh, and I did an awesome eye of partridge heel, too.

Onto the blurry photos – did people see that Rowanspun 4ply up on Elann last week? It disappeared crazy fast. And I was in on it!

I got 18 skeins of Blood (and 18 in Burgundy for Jill), and also threw in a kacha-kacha counter and the Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook. I’m planning on double-stranding this stuff, but even still, it’s going to take awhile!

I finished knitting the second robot, too. I think I’m a bit robot-ed out for awhile.

Now I just need to find some time to seam all the fiddly things up. But not right now – I’m off to make cookies for tomorrow’s holiday/anniversary party at lettuce knit. And uh, study or something. Yeah.

  • a picture-heavy problem

I finished the main knitting on the Fiery Bolero – only the ribbing is left.

Not bad, eh? Well see that line of stitch markers on the right?

That’s how much I need to take off the sleeves. The sleeves are too long – my mom wanted short sleeves, and these are elbow-length without the ribbing! And since the whole piece is knit up the back, cast on for the sleeves, and down the fronts, there’s almost no way to rip back (I sure ain’t ripping all the way to the back).

You know what that means…STEEK TIME!

I’m going to use crochet steeks. I practiced on a swatch last night – forgive the photo quality, it was late.

I have realized, of course, that since this one is for my mom – it isn’t due until Christmas Day. Other presents will have to be exchanged before then, therefore this one’s getting backburnered for awhile! Too many other things to knit!

I did start another present – a fantastically gorgeous sock out of Ultramerino 6.

It’s on 3.25 mm needles and I loooove it – that sock is already done! DK weight socks rock!
