In lieu of the rest post, where I put up photos of the completed Bubble sweater (which I’ve worn twice already!)…

This morning I forced myself awake, got dressed for work and was just about ready to go when…I knocked over a big glass of water which was on my desk, which then shattered at my feet, cutting one of them. Luckily no glass was embedded, and I had left lots of time to get to work. I picked up the big pieces, paper toweled up the water, and vacuumed – I vacuumed again when I got home. Stupid, stupid. Plastic cups from now on.

New yarn – I bought a bag of O-wool Balance, which is 50% organic wool, 50% organic cotton goodness. I can’t find a picture of the colour, but it’s a tweedy dark plummy rose. I’m planning on doing a simple top-down wrap (typo: crap) sweater out of it. Now – no more yarn buying till the Knitter’s Frolic, which is one month from now.

Tons of projects in progress and papers to write, too. I’d better get on that!

    1. Camera batteries are dead – I took some using the other camera (sony cybershot) but they’re all blurry. I kind of hate that camera, it never agrees with me! Also,

    2. I’ve been working on the pattern for the buttonup raglan – the pattern has been done for ages, but I’m stuck trying to figure out how to make the photos look good AND have the file size be small enough. I’ve got one copy that looks great, but is 5 MB! One that’s quite acceptable is 4 MB, even though the file sizes of the photos themselves are small – under 200 kb. The copy I’ve got at 1.3 MB? The photos kind of suck. They’re not totally terrible, but not as sharp as I’d like. The photos were taken with the aforementioned Cybershot and they’re not that great. Booo.

    3. I have two papers due tomorrow (pretty short ones) and neither are done, and both kind of suck. At this point I’m just aiming for completion – they’re both in the word range, I just need to finish off some thoughts and finish the damn things.

    4. I want to drop this class I’m taking (language revitalization) but I can’t/won’t because that would mean taking another term. No fucking way.

    5. I really want to cast on for the Bubble Sweater from Knitting Nature, but I have SIX sweaters on the needles at the moment, not counting a couple that have undecided futures. At least one is coming OFF the needles, hopefully to be destashed.

    6. I want to list a bunch of yarns for destashing but I don’t really have time to take photos or write ’em up. Maybe during reading week.

    7. I need a break.

    Sigh.

Ugh. The day? Not so great. Work was fine, and I got to start an awesome sample for the store! I’m making the cover “capecho” from Vogue Knitting, out of super yummy Blue Sky Worsted (different gauge than called for). I wanted to knit it (but not necessarily wear it myself), and megan wanted it for a store sample, so everybody wins. I started today and I have four pentagons done!

Hopefully I won’t get *too* sick of pentagons, because I also want to knit the Bubble Sweater from Knitting Nature. I’ve set my sights on some Manos in a colour that I’ve loved forever. Soon, soon.

The back of the organic cabled raglan is done, and the front is proceeding in quite a timely manner as well. After the front is done I’ll probably be taking a short break until more of the yarn comes in. The pattern is a bit hard on my hands – so many twists and cables (I cable without a needle, of course – it would be so tedious to use a cabled needle on a piece like this!). So it’s probably good to take a break.

I’ve been thinking of starting a new super-simple shawl, out of some Nature’s Palette that I bought awhile back. I have three each of two different blue shades, because I couldn’t decide between them! The question is, what shall I do? I’m already thinking just along the lines of cast on 3, inc at the beginning of each row in st st – but holding one strand of each colour together, or softly grading the colours by working 2 balls of dark, then alternating one ball of each colour, and ending with the last 2 balls?

Hm. Sounds like I’ve already made up my mind!
