  • Enjoying The Process

Hand quilting is slow, but I love it. I’m nearly halfway done the quilting in one direction on my Diawabo giant star (fabric from the workroom). I’m planning on lots of horizontal quilting lines, a bit wonky/organic, and then just a few vertical lines.

I’m also loving knitting with Lorna’s Laces Haymarket! The weather turned just a bit cool today, and it’s so wooly and soft.

    the tiniest pepper ever

The tiniest little bell pepper. I’m sure it’s not a hot pepper because the only hot peppers I planted are jalapenos!

    colours!

Lovely Haymarket from Lorna’s Laces. I’m hard at work on a little collection using their yarns, which are so gorgeous! Starting the last sweater now.

    scrappy border

Added a scrappy border to the giant start quilt to make it longer. I struggled with the backing for some reason, but it’s all settled and basted now. On to the quilting!

    Fjord-ing

A finished sweater for my fall collection, in Lorna’s Laces Sportmate in Fjord. Such a nice soft colour, and I’m very pleased with how the sweater turned out!

  • Binding Time!

I finished hand quilting on the chevron quilt! The quilting lines are about 3″-ish apart in a diagonal pattern. I’d actually love to do even more quilting on this project, but I think I might be ready to move onto the next one.

    time for binding!

On the knitting front, I have so much to do! I have a lovely lacy sweater pattern nearly ready to release before the autumn really rolls in. I’ve also been putting in some real work on a sweater for my boyfriend. It actually started as a sweater for me, but he really, really liked the yarn so I adjusted it to better fit him. I didn’t use a pattern, it’s just a basic bottom-up raglan with a bit of a neck detail. Quince & Co’s Chickadee is SUCH a lovely yarn, and a pleasure to knit with.

Maybe it’s that the weather is slightly less sweltering now, but I’m really feeling the need to reconnect with my knitting. I have so much to make and only two hands!
