  • wip/rip: cuddly shawl

    worsted weight shawl

A worsted-weight version of Charlotte’s Web, in a super soft and heathery alpaca/merino blend, bought at Rhinebeck last year. It was one of the two yarns that I bought, and I only have two skeins – somewhere in the back of my mind, I think that’s 500 yards.

This one’s going forward – I’m done one ball and have knit up a few rows of the second ball. It’s going to be on the small side, but I’ll give it a good stretching when I block it for a decent scarf size.

All this unearthing of projects making me a bit alarmed! There’s still more to come, but I just might stop before I get through everything….

  • wip/rip: bamboo rib cardi

    Slightly less ripping, hm?

I started this cardigan in…June? Estelle 100% silk – it’s green, I promise. Just haven’t had the time to do the whole setup to get better colour!

    bamboo rib cardi

When I pulled it out of its bag, I realized that I had the whole body to the underarms, one sleeve, and most of the second sleeve done already – just the yoke (and bands/collar) to go! So I finished up the second sleeve and joined everything for the yoke.

the sweater that refuses to be non-blurry

The body looks teeeeeny. But I know the numbers work, it’s ribbed, and it’s silk – the whole thing will expand a heck of a lot once it hit a good soaking. So this one’s a keeper, at least for now. Turns out I’m going to have a LOT on my plate very shortly, so I might not get back to it for awhile…besides, I’m sort of on to newer and shinier things ; )

Yep, still more wip/rip to come – and maybe a finished sweater or two!

  • wip/rip: doctor’s bag

I can’t quite remember when I started this…maybe last winter?

    doctor's bag

It’s the Doctor’s Bag from Knit2Together, in Briggs and Little that I bought at last year’s KW fair. Double stranded on 8 mm – ouch! I do love the texture, and I loved the idea, but it wasn’t very fun to knit and not even that fast to work! All the finishing was pretty daunting too. I ripped out the two pieces and set the yarn aside – maybe I’ll be up to trying it again sometime, or will find another pattern to use with that yarn.
