  • yeah, my photos kinda suck

So hard to capture those reds, you know? Plus it’s all tweedy and confuses my camera. I went back to find the photo I took of the Rowanspun yarn when I got it back in December –

That’s pretty accurate on my monitor. Deep burgundy-red, with flecks of orange and bright red. Kind of purpley. I haven’t moved at all on finishing that jacket, but I think I’ve decided to take the timid route and go all one colour. Soon, soon.

I am so sleepy from all the running around I’ve been doing. Coming soon – socks. Maybe even another almost-sweater.

  • everything’s comin’ up milhouse

Finally, the jacket that was supposed to be fast ‘n’ easy is coming together. (It was easy, just not very fast.)

I crocheted the seams together the other night – so good for speed and ease of ripping and fixing. I think the crocheted seams will add some stability as well. Now all it needs is a collar and some bands.

My question is – should I trim the front bands and the collar in a constrast colour? This is some more Rowanspun in “midnight” (dark blue).

I’m thinking applied i-cord, whereas in the photo it’s just a single crochet experiment, but I kinda like it. Gives some punch. Maybe a different colour? Suggestions? Oh, and if I do the front edges and the collar, should I trim the sleeves as well?

    Decisions, decisions.

  • sock sock sock

Three socks on the go – how did that happen?

From left to right: plain sock in Vesper sock yarn, “Strange Little Mama” (ah, a throwback to my black-and-red days); shortie sock in Trekking; completed toe-up sock in leftover Lorna’s Laces “Irving Park”. I’m feeling the short-row-heel love. I should get that second toe done so I can knit the foot in class tomorrow…

New yarn, a bit of a departure for me – pale greens, blues and pinks, with sparkle.

Coming soon – rowanspun jacket inches enters the last hundred metres; a question of colour.
