wanted: instant gratification

I started another new sweater (or two)…

tree jacket

This one’s the Tree Jacket from Zephyr Style. I’m using The Fibre Company’s Terra, which is just a fantastic, fantastic yarn. As others have noted, though, it’s pretty spendy. I got this batch on sale : )

The irregularity of the yarn, both texture and colour, work really well with this pattern. Unfortunately, I don’t have a heck of a lot of yarn – I only have seven skeins of this colour (Acorn) and then three more of a light blue.

I think this is how things are going to play out, based on how far I’ve gotten with two skeins: three skeins for the yoke (maybe a little less), then one skein for each of the sleeves and the remainder for the body. So when I run out of yarn on each sleeve, I’ll start the cuff in the contrast colour. Hopefully the body will end up long enough! The lace in the body should stretch the yarn a little farther.

In other news, Dr. Steph gave me this:

you make my day award

Which is so cute and awwww! The rules say: “Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.”

Steph’s list is faboo, so here’s ten more great ones (no particular order):

1. Klosekraft
2. Dogged.
3. A Mingled Yarn
4. Green Apples
5. Savannahchik
6. Seed Stitch
7. Skrilla Knits
8. My Sensitive Girl Hole
9. Not an Artist
10. stitch marker

Have a nice evening, everyone!

Oh gosh that yarn is GORGEOUS. I am so excited to see how it knit up, I saw this at my LYS and thought it was so beautiful, but couldn’t bring myself to spend so much on it! Maybe I can splurge on a few skeins for an accessory! Can’t wait to see this finished!

Thank you! *blush* I didn’t even know you read me!

The Terra is to die for and is literally the most comfortable yarn I’ve ever worn. I would love a skein of every color. A girl can dream!

I just love instant gratification knitting. Sometimes (especially after a long day) it is just great to sit down and make something and be able to wear it in under a week. It will be awfully nice to see this sweater finished.

Love Fibre Company yarn, any of it, all of it! Which colorway is the one you show here? I can’t wait to see the sweater.

Laura! Thank you so much! I had no idea you were reading. I take that as a huge compliment. I will stop feeling too uncool to comment over here now :)

  13. […] Like I said, I’ve been away from the blog, focusing on knitting, designing and schoolwork. In that order. Some MORE good knittish things have happened recently but I sort of feel like keeping them secret for now! Another reason I’m blushing is that I’ve been given the You Make My Day blog award from Gudrun, Cosmicpluto (didn’t even know she read my blog, eek!) Sknitty and Brokeknits. Thanks, ladies, I echo the sentiment. Here are ten of my favorites: […]
