twice as nice

I’ve got two new cowls off the needles and around my neck! Well, not at the same time or anything. Both are my own pattern, which I’ve named the Beauchamp Cowl.

Fingering Weight Beauchamp Cowl

Fingering weight version in lots of colours of Koigu.

DK weight Beauchamp Cowl

DK weight version in 2 colours of Handmaiden 4ply cashmere – which, by the way, is really one of the most beautiful cashmeres I’ve worked with! I love it so.

The pattern is done and is just being proofread and test knit and all that good stuff. I’m just itching to get some new stuff out to you all!

I really like it, especially the colors you used in the first one. Very pretty!

Those are wonderful… I like the lighter weight yarn you’ve used. Some of my kids just went back to school in the very windy, snowy cold. They’d love these.

Both your cowls are lovely! Well done!;)

Beautiful! I’m especially excited about the Koigu version; I have loads of bits of sock yarn about. What a great idea! :)

They’re beautiful. They actually look like two completely different patterns to the untrained eye – because of the different color combos. What a smartie you are to knit both samples… they’re twice as nice!

    Wow, they’re really gorgeous!

They’re beautiful! And what a great way to put those sock yarn bits to use. Funnily, when I saw the preview pictures in your last post for some reason I was thinking ‘hat’. And they’re cowls! :)

I love this pattern! Do you think it would be a good first colorwork project? One of my new year’s resolutions was to tackle this technique, and this cowl is providing some wonderful motivation!

Very pretty Laura. I love variegated yarns used in fair isle

Love the cowls. From the previous post I thought they might turn out to be hats! Shows what I know!

    These both look really nice.

Oh, I like the colour motif you’ve got going on there. It’s technically colourwork, but super-accessible.

Another gorgeous pattern! I love the second one A LOT!

They are both so beautiful =)

Are cowls the new “socks”? I like them so well because you can get your favorite or most flattering color right up close to your face. Awaiting patterns!!
