Tiny Garden, June 12

It’s not so tiny any more! Things grow so fast at this stage.

The peas look great! I hope they don’t ALL mature while we’re away on vacation, but on the plus side at least my cousin will have something to harvest when she comes over to water?

Beans (green and purple), zucchini, eggplant.

Maybe we’ll finally get some edible sized cucumbers this year?

The flowers got a bit knocked around in the storms this week – mostly the carnations since they’re pretty exposed, and on long stems. The flower boxes of marigolds and petunias still look great, they have filled in so much!

Sometimes squirrels, raccoons and other varmints eat our lovely little veggies. Try buying some cougar urine at the garden center and sprinkling around edge of the garden or any approach they could make to the garden to scare them off!

What are those red containers you’re using for your tomatoes? I use Earthboxes myself, but I’m curious. I have a reasonable size yard but like the controlled, weed-free environment of containers. :)
