it’s all about Autumn

Pattern: my own, inspired by “Simply Marilyn” from Interweave
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Cotton, red, 6 skeins
Needles: Denise US7
Started: September 25, 2005
Finished: October 9, 2005

It’s soooo comfy, I haven’t taken it off since I took this photo. A great colour, easy and quick to knit, and just right. Economical, too – I still have half a skein left over.

So obviously, I started a new project, even though I’d told myself I wouldn’t – ah well, it straight stockinette for lectures and reading.

A raglan out of super-soft Silky Tweed and Silky Wool, bought at the KW knitter’s fair.

Laura – it looks amazing. I’m so happy to finally see a pic of you wearing it. I love it. It’s my fav thing that you’ve made yet.

Cables are my favorite, and you rocked ’em. I hope you keep your knits as heirlooms, they’re great. =)

What a lovely sweater! It is a real improvement on the Simply Marilyn, which was pretty, but not nearly so wearable. I think I speak for everyone when I say we would love to hear your mods.

Did you knit it from the top down or in pieces? Love the styling. Would you be willing the share the pattern?

It’s wonderful! This version seems much more wearable than the Bliss pattern.

You’re such a prolific knitter! I’ve always wanted to knit a sweater like that- big horseshoe-ish cable down the middle, fitted pull-over style. That’s my dream sweater, but I’m much to lazy to do all the math, ha.

My goodness, you’re a speed knitter! I’m jealous. I love both of your latest – Cloud and Autumn. Oh, and your standard top-down cardi pattern? Knitting one for my mom currently. I LOVE the simplicity of the pattern. Thank you for sharing your creations with us!

I love the sweater! What a great way to make a nice (but somewhat unwearable) design even better.

Love what you did with the original pattern. Very pretty with a nicer neckline and better fit.
