Finally…FINALLY. I’ve been wrestling with the pattern for some weeks now, not because of the actual pattern itself, but making up the pdf – turns out Acrobat is a handy, handy program. Many thanks to some almost-family for use of said program.

BUTTON ME UP PULLOVER

Button Me Up! is a fun, fast and easy pullover knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up with raglan sleeves. The functional buttoned yoke is knit flat, with button bands picked up and finished afterwards. Just the thing to show off unique or vintage buttons – the ones on this sweater were pulled from a thrifted vest!

The yarn used in the pattern, Cascade Pastaza, is incredibly warm and quite durable. But if you don’t require such insulation, feel free to substitute any chunky-weight wool, wool blend, or cotton!

    What a gorgeous pattern!

About the big space, looking at your html source, it seems to be because the paypal code has a line break ( <br /> ) at the end of each line, causing the big gap between the price and the buy it now button. (I think WordPress added those line breaks automatically.) You can fix this by deleting those line breaks, and just put all the paypal code (those lines that begin with “form”, “input”, etc) into just one line.

I hope that makes sense! If not, feel free to email me.

Oh, it’s FAB. I did not know that Cascade Pastaza is a chunky-weight yarn. Darn. I am wondering what I have in my stash that will suffice. But I’m off to buy it. Love it.

There is a free web-based PDF converter at http://www.pdfonline.com

You submit the original via the website and they’ll email you the PDF. I use it for all my quilt patterns and it does a good job converting the images. Some free converters leave a watermark on your document but these folks don’t.

    I love it! Well done!
Oh, and another free PDF maker that I use and love is at pdffactory.com. You download the program and makes itself like a printer on your computer. You print documents to it and it makes them PDFs. It’s cool.

Oh Laura, so, so pretty! Two questions, 1) do you know if the required yarn can be purchased in Toronto? 2) Is there are waist shaping?

I think I’m in love. I had a sweater with similar button detail years ago and miss it.

I love this sweater! Ive been searching for a pattern like it and now Ive found it… just one question, is there a way to make it from the top down? Im kind of a new knitter and Im comfortable with the top down structure.
    Thanks!

  10. Getting there… and wanting more — Knits

[…] When I first started knitting and I trawled the internet for knitting information – patterns, blogs, yarn – I saw Rogue and I said “I want to make that!” And there’s Eris which is really nice too (although I’d really like it to have a hood for some reason). The yarn I came across today is exactly the kind of thing these patterns call for and it’s half the price and discontinued. My fingers are really, really itching to press “Buy it now”. But I have so much yarn already and I’m trying to be good. I really would like a nice cardigan (I’m planning on knitting Cosmicpluto’s Top Down Cardi 2.0, and while it’s nice, it’ll be slightly stripey and more casual than something like Eris). And then Cosmicpluto has also recently published two other cute sweaters – Button me up and Belle Shrug – although the Shrug is apparently available from the yarn shop she works for, but their web site is a bit weird as it points to all the manufacturers and I can’t seem to actually find any information about prices and that pattern. […] Okay so now that the purse is finished, I have started my yearly sweater.  For some reason after the first of the year I start itching to knit a sweater.  I looked and looked for a pattern.  For Christmas my sister gave my fabulous Stitch and Bitch Calendar.  It comes with all kinds of patterns and knitting tips.  So the pattern for February 15th was my final choice.  You can also find the pattern here.
